New homes will be built by Liverpool-based Plus Dane over three years with a further £8m earmarked for improvements to its existing stock this years. Tony McDonough reports.
Social homes provider Plus Dane Housing is to deliver almost 600 new homes across Merseyside and Cheshire over the next three years in a £30m investment.
Liverpool-based Plus Dane also says it will be spending another £8m this year improving its current estate.
The new developments are being funded by a combined investment of £30m from Plus Dane and funds made available from a successful application to the Homes and Communities Agency’s Affordable Homes Programme Grant 2015 – 2018.
The organisation’s executive director of property, Claire Griffiths, said: “We have an excellent track record in providing affordable housing across the North West, and we are delighted to once again be in a strong position to build on this with a full programme of new schemes for rent and sale in place for the next three years.
“Going forward, we want to be a developer of choice in this arena.
“For those already living in Plus Dane homes, customer feedback shows that the majority of our tenants are happy with their homes.”
A total of 590 new properties for affordable rent and shared ownership are scheduled to be developed.
Key sites across Merseyside and Cheshire are being developed to provide affordable homes for families, couples and single people.
Developments currently under construction and scheduled for completion in 2017 include Everton Brow (North Liverpool), Shepherd’s Row (Runcorn), and Dunkirk Farm (Holmes Chapel, Cheshire). Together they will provide nearly 70 homes and apartments across the region.
Plus Dane has more than 18,000 homes in ownership and management across Merseyside and Cheshire. It employs more than 800 people, has an asset value in excess of £570m and a turnover of £97m.
