Ryanair will begin flying to Kos from Liverpool in July

Ryanair has added another route to its Liverpool summer schedule with a weekly flight to the Greek Island of Kos starting in July.

Despite the huge pressure on the aviation sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, the low cost airline has continued to launch new routes out of Liverpool John Lennon Airport. This is the fourth in six months and follows a new service to Zadar in Croatia announced just three weeks ago.

International travel is still not permitted for most travellers until May 17 at the earliest, but the airport is continuing to plan ahead and prepare for the return of passengers over the coming weeks and months.

Kos is one of Greece’s Dodecanese islands and is known for its beautiful  sandy beaches. It also offers a number of Greek and Roman landmarks, particularly in and around Kos town. This harbour town is dominated by the 15th-century Neratzia Castle.

To celebrate the new route, Ryanair has launched a seat sale with fares available from just £19.99 for travel until the end of October 2021, which must be booked by midnight Friday, April 23.

Paul Winfield, Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s director of aviation development, said: “We continue to work with our airline partners to ensure that once international travel opens up again.

“The region’s travellers have some great destinations to be able to fly to along with all the added benefits of flying from the regions faster, easier, friendlier airport. Ryanair’s commitment to Liverpool is great news for travellers from across the region and we look forward to welcoming back thousands of holidaymakers soon.”
