Merseyside clinical negligence law firm Fletchers Group announces the election of six new partners. Tony McDonough reports
Southport-based law firm Fletchers Group has announced the election of six new partners.
In June the firm announced it was opening a new office in Liverpool. Fletchers is established as one of the UK’s leading clinical negligence and personal injury law practices. Representing a range of departments, the new partners are:
- Emma Semwayo (head of clinical negligence, Minton Morrill office)
- Guy Pomphrey (senior solicitor, clinical negligence, Minton Morrill office)
- Kirsty Thomas-Horton (serious injury solicitor and head of charities and partnerships),
- Victoria Marsden (head of EL/PL)
- Andrew Chadwick (head of costs resolution, currently seconded to Blume)
- Charlotte Mackulin (senior solicitor, serious injury unit)
Now in its second year, the Fletchers Group partnership programme is a core part of the firm’s people strategy. It recognises the achievements, dedication, and contribution of its high-performing colleagues.
The new partners were selected through a peer review and multi-stage assessment process carried out by a panel comprising the group’s executive leadership team and a cross section of existing partners.
They will join the 12 existing partners and 12 directors as part of an extended leadership team to take greater responsibility in leading and driving the business.
Adrian Denson, chief legal officer says: “My congratulations to all our new partners, whose selection reflects the depth and diversity of talent we have here at Fletchers Group.
“Each one lives up to Fletchers’ ethos of meeting challenges with determination, enterprise and creativity.
“They are all legal professionals of the highest calibre and have contributed in various other ways to add significant value and make a positive difference to the business.”
Fletchers’ new Liverpool base is a 4,095 sq ft office at the Grade II-listed Cotton Exchange building. The business is “actively recruiting” up to 50 new staff.
In October 2021 the firm was acquired by US-based private equity outfit Sun European Partners. Now it has ambitions to pursue an aggressive mergers and acquisitions strategy. In January it appointed M&A specialist Zoe Holland as chief commercial officer.
