A Wirral-based firm that assesses drainage and water mains claims on behalf of insurers across the UK is creating an extra 14 jobs.

Auger currently employs a total of 124 people, including around 45 at its head office in Wallasey. It is recruiting four more head office staff and 10 engineers who will work across its nationwide network.

As part of its growth, Auger has created its own academy to train and develop employees with the relevant skills in engineering, account management and technology.

Nicola Lyon, head of recruitment and people development at Auger, said: “As we grow our services, so we need to recruit and train the best people. With a commitment to training, our own academy means we can train engineers and other head office staff in best practice across all the skills and disciplines of our service.

“Ultimately, this leads to the best customer service and is the benchmark of how we measure ourselves.

“While we train and develop our own employees, we also encourage them to develop their knowledge and skills further through external industry courses of relevance and even schemes they suggest themselves.”

Training under the academy includes partnering engineers with senior staff. This is supported by industry-leading technology including bespoke software tools and apps which allow staff to file information and reports quickly and easily from wherever they are in the UK.
