Work has started on phase two of a multi-million pound housing project at Wirral Waters.

Phase one of Redbridge Quay, costing £8m, is already complete, comprising 28 two, three and four-bedroom modular factory-built homes at Dock Road. Phase two will comprise 90 homes and will be delivered using standard building methods.

Peel Waters, alongside joint venture partners Qualis Developments and Forshaw Group, has started work on phase two of the scheme. It will offer 84 one-bedroom and six three-bedroom apartments across six four-storey buildings.

Residents will benefit from energy-efficient features including solar panels, EV charging infrastructure and cycle parking, alongside landscaped communal gardens, new tree planting and improved public realm connecting directly to the waterfront promenade.

Redbridge Quay follows on from the completion of Millers Quay, another residential development in Wirral Waters. This comprises 500 apartments across six buildings with an adjacent £7m Sainsbury’s store currently under construction.

Earlier this week Peel Waters secured the third and final planning consent for its £18m expansion of an industrial and employment site at Wirral Waters that could create capacity for up to 200 jobs.

James Whittaker managing director of Peel Waters said: “This is another big moment for Wirral Waters. Getting spades in the ground for the next phase of Redbridge Quay shows the pace at which this regeneration is now moving.

“We’re not just talking about transformation anymore – we’re delivering it. Across Wirral Waters we’re seeing new homes, jobs, education and leisure all coming forward at once, and that’s what creates a place with real energy and staying power.”

Lyndon Forshaw, chief executive of Forshaw Group, added: “Working closely with Peel Waters and Qualis Developments, we’re bringing forward a scheme that combines high-quality design with deliverability and waterfront living.”
