Apprentices grow with DSG

Chartered accountancy firm DSG is harnessing the benefits of apprenticeships, with a number of young apprentices progressing through the firm at various levels.

The firm has four members of staff currently progressing their apprenticeship scheme.

Tony Bayliss, partner at DSG, said:

“Our apprentices are the future of the business and have a real passion for the profession, coupled with fresh ideas, which is great for the firm as a whole.

“Being able to balance starting a career and working towards important qualifications is a tough job. These young people should be recognised for the energy and dedication they put in on a daily basis. Their enthusiasm to learn and progress is truly commendable and we look forward to seeing them continue to develop and grow with us.”

Ian McCann, from Wirral, is a Trust Advisor at the firm, a role which involves assisting with accounts as well as book-keeping. The 21-year-old is studying for a Level One qualification in Association of Taxation Technicians at KAPLAN Financial College in Manchester. The Trust Advisor who will take his first exam in March, says he’s looking forward to growing and developing as a business professional.

David James who is also from Wirral is working at DSG as a Management Information and I.T. Advisor, and will be broadening his experience by working across several departments. The 19-year-old has recently completed his A-Levels and is now studying at KAPLAN Financial College in Liverpool for a Level Two of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Business Accounts Advisor Leah Gaskell and Corporate Business Advisor Sarah Nolan have been working at DSG for nearly fifteen months and have both already achieved Level Two and Level Three Association of Accounting Technician qualifications. The duo is currently studying to progress their qualifications to Level Four at KAPLAN Financial College in Liverpool.

DSG provides a range of tax, audit, and business advice, with offices in Liverpool, Bootle Southport and North Wales.
