Avison Young will be joint agent on the Martins Bank office scheme in Liverpool alongside CBRE.

Kinrise, which acquired the 210,000 sq ft building in August 2021 along with investor Karrev, is currently transforming it into a hybrid mix of work, social and restaurant space.

Located next to Liverpool Town Hall in Water Street, the Grade II-listed building has been closed since 2009. Despite numerous projects and ideas it has remained empty except for a handful of events and film sets.

Now with the multi-million pound transformation well under way Kinrise, and its partner Karrev, have appointed joint agents to market the office space. LBN reported in November that Kinrise was also seeking a restaurant partner for the former banking hall on the ground floor.

One the office refurbishment Kinrise will deliver 95,000 sq ft of office space with floorplates of up to 17,500 sq ft.

Ian Steele, Principal at Avison Young in Liverpool, said: “Martins is putting the needs of the ‘new worker’ at the heart of the refurbishment project.

“Offering more than just a standard workspace, the intention is to deliver best in class office space with a focus on ESG (environmental, social and governance) credentials.

“The project has been designed to future proof the workplace and create a place for Liverpool’s culture, community and commerce.”

Kinrise and Karrev added: “Work is well under way to bring our bold vision for this extraordinary space to life.

“We have been blown away by the public’s love for Martins and the business community’s response to our plans of creating an unequalled workspace experience within this iconic building.

“We look forward to opening our doors in Q4, 2024 and fostering an environment that reflects Liverpool’s unique culture, community and ambition. It will be like no other space in town.”
