BID launch “ThIS Liverpool” app to promote member businesses
On Thursday, 2 October the way the Liverpool Business Improvement District (BID) communicates the appeal of Liverpool city centre will change forever.
The Liverpool BID Company are set to launch a new consumer facing app and website to promote offers and events around the city, and BID members will be able to promote their business through the new app, “ThIS Liverpool”, for free.
The app, which will be available to download from App store and Google Play, will allow businesses to directly target city centre employees, students, and the public with general and exclusive offers.
The app will be filtered across several categories i.e. clothes & footwear, health & beauty, food & drink, culture & entertainment, home & technology and professional services etc – so users will choose what they see. In the coming weeks, data collection will allow businesses to tailor their offers for specific target audiences based on gender, age, place of work and place of study.
Another feature of the app will be the voucher section, which will record how many people redeem offers and give an insight into how many people shared and offer with their friends on social media. Businesses will also be able to provide offers to BID’s thematic trails section – for example, the Beatles Tour, which will encourage users to explore specific sites in the city centre.
The “ThIS Liverpool” app will be launched with a Christmas shopping weekend prize draw, worth £1500, and will be promoted via Radio City, Juice FM, Liverpool ECHO, Visit Liverpool, ECHO Arena, Cumfy Bus, Merseyrail, Primary Times, Your Move, Insider, Student Survival Guide, Everton FC & Liverpool FC, Liverpool city council, and the universities.
