Gay Times
Global LGBTQ+ media brand, Gay Times, has chosen Liverpool for its Gay Times Honours event

Aussie pop prince Troye Sivan, former One Direction star Harry Styles, Drag Race superstar Courtney Act, musician MNEK and British Vogue editor Edward Enninful are among the celebrities to make the shortlist for this year’s Gay Times Honours.

The flagship event from Gay Times will take place at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool on Thursday, November 8, and will pay tribute to leading LGBTQ personalities and organisations.

Among the nominees is British Vogue editor Edward Enninful who has been shortlisted in the ‘Entrepreneurship’ category, while the Australian drag queen and personality Courtney Act has been nominated for the ‘Media’ accolade.

Voices outside of the community who advocate for LGBTQ issues are vital for helping the community’s fight towards true equality.

With that in mind, Harry Styles, Brockhampton, Cupcakke, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, and Lady Gaga have all been nominated for the Gay Times Honour for LGBTQ Advocate for using their platforms in the past 12 months to champion LGBTQ people and raise awareness of LGBTQ issues.

Honourees will be recognised through specially commissioned paintings which will be unveiled in-front of an esteemed crowd on the night.

Gay Times owner, James Frost, said: “Everyone on the shortlist should be immensely proud of the positive impact they’ve had on the lives of LGBTQ people.

“The Gay Times Honours are unique because they recognise people and organisations from across public life who have blazed a trail for the LGBTQ community as well as the individuals and organisations who have worked hard to advance LGBTQ rights.

“We’re incredibly excited about the forthcoming ceremony and welcoming all of those on the shortlist to celebrate and reflect just how far we have come as a community.”

Established in 1984, Gay Times is Europe’s longest running LGBTQ magazine and has the largest social reach of any queer publication globally.
