Biggest outdoor quiz comes to Liverpool’s Sefton Park
The North’s biggest al fresco pub quiz is set to take place in Sefton Park, Liverpool on Friday 19th September, as part of Liverpool Food and Drink Festival. SK Events & PR, the company behind Liverpool Food and Drink Festival is inviting businesses and groups of friends across Merseyside to enter teams of up to eight people ahead of the event.
The al fresco pub quiz is part of The Liverpool Food and Drink Festival’s celebration of the great British Pub, which also features a Q&A with Tom Kerridge, the only chef ever to have received two Michelin stars for pub grub. There will also be beer and bangers, a real ale festival, pub grub, pop-up restaurants, street food vendors, live music and dodgems.
Around 800 people are expected to take part in the light-hearted pub quiz which is being hosted by Liverpool’s infamous quiz master, Jonny Bongo, known for his hilarious and spontaneous style of quizzing.
Denise Harris, Liverpool Food and Drink Festival Event Director, is confident that the pub quiz will be a hit. She said:
“As the Friday evening of Liverpool Food and Drink Festival is themed around the great British pub, we thought that to organise the North’s largest pub quiz would be a great addition to the event. Our quiz master Jonny Bongo is well known in the city for his quirky pub quizzes and he is currently compiling his food and drink questions.
“We are looking for around 100 teams of up to eight people to take part in this lighthearted, fun pub quiz, so start brushing up on your food and drink facts and submit your team of friends or colleagues early to avoid disappointment!”
Liverpool Food and Drink Festival continues on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September, where visitors can expect to see a chocolate area, an edible garden, a children’s zone, as well as a whole programme of demos from celebrity chefs including Tom Kerridge and Yotam Ottolenghi.
Once the weekend launch event comes to an end, festivities are set to continue for the rest of the week with a programme of food and drink events at restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, and arts venues across the city, as well as the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival awards.
