Biggy Ziggy win for Wild Thang with Bowie Con deal

Brand marketing specialist Wild Thang wins deals to produce merchandise for Sound City and Bowie Con, a global gathering of the rock legend’s biggest fans in Liverpool this summer. Tony McDonough reports

Bootle brand marketing firm Wild Thang will produce branded merchandise for two mega music events taking place in Liverpool in the next few weeks.

Wild Thang will be the official merchandise partner of Sound City 2024, Liverpool’s now well-established showcase for the best live bands. It will take place this year on May 4 and 5.

And from July 26 to 28, Bowie Con will rock up at St George’s Hall in the city centre for the biggest annual gathering of music legend David’s Bowie’s fans. Wild Thang will provide the official merchandise reflecting his iconic influence on music, fashion, and culture.

Based in Bootle, close to the Port of Liverpool’s northern docklands, Wild Thang produces a large range of branded products for multiple blue chip clients including SkyBet, McDonald’s and Paddy Power.

It defied the strong headwinds of the pandemic to invest more than £2m in a huge upgrade of its headquarters. Since then it has invested hundreds of thousands of pounds more in new production equipment to increase capacity and improve efficiency.

Wild Thang has a strong sustainability focus and is committed to becoming a net zero carbon business by 2023. Andrew explained these two events are an opportunity to showcase what the company can offer.
