BIPC hosts event for fledgling entrepreneurs
Business & IP Centre Liverpool City Region teams up with Luma Creations to host an event in Liverpool for would-be or early-stage creative entrepreneurs
More than 90 entrepreneurs in fashion, music, design, art and other sectors attended an event in Liverpool to support fledgling entrepreneurs.
Business & IP Centre Liverpool City Region (BIPC) partnered with Luma Creations to host the event at Bem Brasil in the city centre. It was aimed at people running, starting or growing creative businesses.
It enabled those attending to access funding, advice and information while showcasing the support services available.
Geraldine Fuller of BIPC Liverpool and Francisco Carrasco of Luma Creations addressed guests. Local creative economist Erika Rushton from Kindred, and Victoria Merriman from Arts Council England, also offered presentations.
Geraldine said: “A big proportion of the businesses supported by the Business & IP Centre are creative. We wanted to do something to bring everyone together to help them share ideas and opportunities whilst providing quality information on what is available.

“The Creative Futures programmes that Francisco has run for us here in Central Library have been a phenomenal success.
“Together we’ve built a powerful network and we hope that today will act as a catalyst for a lot more activity that will connect and support talented people with fantastic creative ideas and businesses. There was a huge buzz in the room.”
Guests enjoyed networking whilst enjoying authentic Latin food. Francisco Carrasco added: “We work closely with the BIPC team, and it was fantastic to collaborate with them on this important event welcoming so many exciting and gifted individuals.”
