Liverpool city region businesses are being asked to support a music festival taking place this summer that will showcase female performers.

Organised by Scrapyard Studios CIC in Bootle, WIMIN Festival on Saturday, July 29. Venue will be the Lock and Quay venue in Bootle. It will feature a diverse line-up of female musicians and performers.

Beyond live performances, WIMIN Festival will also offer interactive activities, educational talks, and networking opportunities.

Scrapyard Studios is partnering with national and local organisations such as Where are the Girlbands?, Fierce Futures CIC, We Want Women, Bitch Palace, Sumati Productions, Fierce PR, Sounds Northern and SWACA on the event.

Now local businesses are being asked to support the festival. WIMIN relies on the support of sponsors, funding bids, and collaborations with local businesses to cover festival expenses. These expenses include artists, production, and staff.

Festival director Holly Tulloch said that by getting involved in the festival, local firms can play a role in promoting a more inclusive and diverse music scene in Liverpool and beyond.

She added: “We believe in the power of collaboration and are excited to work with local businesses that share our vision of promoting equality and inclusivity in the music industry.

“By sponsoring WIMIN Festival, businesses can make a tangible impact on women’s lives while gaining valuable brand exposure and reaching a highly engaged audience.”

WIMIN Festival is introducing the WIMIN Ambassador programme. As a WIMIN Ambassador Business, companies can offer exclusive discounts to festival ticket holders in the lead-up to the event.

They include The Headliner, The Rising Star, and The Supporting Act and offer brand exposure, access to festival-goers, and the opportunity to support fair pay for women musicians and creative professionals.

In-kind sponsorships are also welcome, encouraging local businesses to offer products or services that align with the festival’s mission.

WIMIN Festival will also offer mentorship opportunities for local women seeking to launch their career in music, with the goal of fostering long-term outcomes beyond a single day.
