Caddick Construction has completed phase two of Aviator for Redsun

Phase two of Redsun’s  Aviator industrial development at Ellesmere Port has been completed.

Caddick Construction has finished work on the scheme which comprises two speculatively-built units of 200,000 sq ft and 80,000 sq ft. Caddick had already completed phase one of Aviator, a 125,000 sq ft unit that was let to Survitec.

Located off North Road, the 22-acre Aviator site forms part of the Cheshire Science Corridor. It benefits from enhanced capital allowances towards fit-out costs offered by its Enterprise Zone status.

Project team on the development included Fletcher Rae Architects, Muir Associates and Crookes Walker Consulting. B8 Real Estate and M1 Agency are joint letting agents.

Nick Wightman, director at Redsun, said: “The profile of Ellesmere Port has changed significantly since we broke ground on the first phase nearly four years ago.

“Despite encountering a global pandemic in the middle of that period, this development has been a great success for us and its quality is testament to the construction and design team involved over both phases.

“We look forward to bringing similar developments forward this year to tackle the continuing lack of supply in the region.”

Caddick’s North West team includes more than 100 members of staff and operates from offices in Warrington and Kendal.

Managing director Ian Threadgold added: “It is testament to our team’s successful delivery of phase one that we were appointed to work with Redsun on the second phase of its impressive Aviator project.

“This is an incredibly high quality industrial scheme boasting excellent connectivity to the region and wider UK and we are privileged to have been involved.”

In early January LBN reported that Redsun had unveiled a 70,000 sq ft development plan that will see the Croft retail park in Wirral extended.

It has acquired a piece of land adjacent to the current estate in Bromborough from Homes England for an undisclosed sum. The firm has secured planning consent to build four trade counter units and three detached industrial units.
