Celebrate Mother’s Day with delicious food like Mamma used to make at Trattoria 51
Mother’s Day is just around the corner and Trattoria 51 are set hold a special Sunday opening to mark the celebratory occasion.
On March 15, The Old Hall Street eatery will serve an exclusive two/three course feast, which will showcase a selection of signature dishes that features classic flavours with a contemporary twist.
To complete the perfect setting for families with small children, an additional Bambinos menu has also been devised by head chef Gigi Sedda.
Gigi said:
“As a treat to the whole family, we have created a menu that features a great range of all-time Italian favourites during our special Sunday opening.
“Mother’s Day is about showering mums, grans and aunts with love and thanks and what better way to do it than with an authentic family dining experience?”
To begin their meal, guests can choose from a selection of starters including Tuscany-style Chicken Liver Pate with Toasted Bread; Parma Ham and Melon; Gravadlax Scottish Salmon with Dill and Honey Mustard Sauce served with Baby Beetroot, Rocket Salad and Crusty Bread and Grilled Goat Cheese with Grilled and Marinated Vegetables.
Mains include Pork Saltimbocca, Parma Ham and Sage, Sweet Marsala Wine Sauce, Mash Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables; Slow Cooked Braised Scottish Beef with Red Wine and Mushrooms Sauce, Mash Potato and Seasonal Vegetables; Devon Crab Ravioli, King Prawns and Dill Cream Sauce and Crespelle – Pancakes filled with Spinach and Ricotta served with Dolcelatte Cheese and Walnut Sauce.
Those with a weakness for desserts can choose from a selection of sweet treats such as Lemon and Lime Posset with Fresh Raspberries Coulis and Shortbread Biscuit, Homemade Classic Tiramisu and White Chocolate and Raspberries Cheesecake.
Gigi added:
“Our aim is to create the ambience for enjoyable and memorable dining so that families can spend quality time together, whilst celebrating Mother’s Day in true Italian style.”
The Mother’s Day menu is available on Sunday, March 15. Prices start at £14.95 for two courses and £17.95 for three courses. The Bambino menu is priced at £8.95. A limited number of tables remain, therefore reservations are recommended.
