St Helens Chamber will hold 12 jobs fairs in 2024

St Helens Chamber has announced dates for 12 jobs and apprenticeship fairs being held in 2024 which Liverpool city region can book places at free of charge.

Being held in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) the monthly events will take place across the city region.

Events are now open for booking, but places are filling fast, so interested businesses are encouraged to register early to avoid disappointment.

Not only can businesses meet potential candidates, they can also find out more about the recruitment support provided by the chamber, most of which is free of charge.

Lisa Weir, director of training at St Helens Chamber, said: “Through our close work with local businesses, we recognise that recruitment is a big challenge for businesses across the region.

“We’re also the National Careers Service for St Helens, and so we’re working with plenty of local people who are looking for work.

“This makes us uniquely placed to help bridge the gap between businesses looking to recruit and people looking for work – and that’s what the jobs and apprenticeship fairs are all about.”

She added: “We don’t charge exhibitors at these events, as we want to keep the focus on recruitment support and ensure that no one is priced out.

“The events run for two-and-a-half hours, and attract an average of 150 attendees. So, for a minimum time commitment, and no financial commitment, you could meet lots of potential candidates.

“Previous events have seen multiple jobs offered on the day, and many more interviews scheduled, so these really are valuable to local businesses.”
