Based in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool, the Clatterbridge Private Clinic will offer world class cancer care to patients in people across Cheshire, Merseyside and beyond

Clatterbridge Private Clinic has opened its new facility inside the region’s flagship specialist cancer hospital: Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool.

Established in 2021 in Wirral, Clatterbridge Private Clinic offers tailored cancer care led by consultants who are leaders in the field of cancer research and diagnostics. Its services include diagnostics, outpatient treatments, day-care and private inpatient facilities.

As well as providing cancer treatment and care in state-of-the-art facilities, it is also part of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust and profits are reinvested back into the NHS each year, delivering real social value.   

The clinic is based inside The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre’s 11-storey new specialist cancer hospital, which opened in June 2020. Clatterbridge Private Clinic is one of very few private facilities in the UK with the resources and support of a specialist cancer hospital such as this. 

Based in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, the clinic will offer inpatient and outpatient care to people across Cheshire, Merseyside and beyond. It provides a rapid diagnostic service and fast access to treatments, many of which are not available at other clinics.

The private clinic houses some of the most sophisticated diagnostic imaging technology available including MRI, CT and ultrasound scans. It offers tailored cancer care led by consultants who are leaders in the field of cancer research and diagnostics.

A range of cutting-edge treatments are available for patients with cancer, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other targeted drug therapies, as well as innovative treatments such as Papillon Therapy (a specialist form of radiotherapy for rectal cancers). 

All the private inpatient rooms are en-suite, to provide not only excellent facilities but to also protect patients from infection. The clinic is designed to be comfortable and relaxing, to ensure the patient’s journey is as calming and enjoyable as possible.

All treatments are delivered in their state-of-the-art treatment area and private patient rooms by the highly-skilled and specialised nursing team. The new Clatterbridge Private Clinic in Liverpool is incredibly spacious, so is ideal for social distancing and offers a COVID-secure environment.

It has put a number of precautions in place to ensure the safety of all its staff and patients. This includes regular deep cleaning of the whole clinic. Masks are to be worn at all times by everyone in the clinic, and full PPE when required. There are also restrictions on the number of people at the clinic at one time.
