College joins forces with Barclays to help students
The City of Liverpool College is working with Barclays and the National Skills Academy to help students improve employability skills.
The “Prepare for Work” project aims to raise awareness of what young people need to do to become employable and help them make their first steps towards a successful career.
Aimed primarily at 16-24 year olds, although students of any age are welcome to attend, the project consists of bite sized employability activities which will be delivered informally by the college team and also integrated into other college events.
Activities the students will take part in include interview training, how to improve CVs, how to stand out from the crowd and even how to go about starting your own business.
Elaine Bowker, Principal of the City of Liverpool College, said:
“Our college ethos is all about providing training for jobs and this project with Barclays links perfectly with this. ‘Prepare for Work’ is all about helping our students stand out from the crowd, making sure they have the essential skills to navigate the recruitment process and get their foot on the ladder of their chosen career.”
