Community Superstar awards celebrate local heroes

Community awards want you to nominate local heroes.

Community Superstars, which launched last year to celebrate the achievements of outstanding individuals who work to better our communities, has announced its return.

The awards will once again take place at the stunning Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park and will be a celebration of philanthropic feats, paying fitting tribute to some of the extraordinary individuals who are helping to shape the city’s future for the better.

There are eleven awards in total, which will recognise the accomplishments of individuals, groups or organisations who have demonstrably benefitted the community through services, projects or sheer selfless determination.

There are three special awards that will be decided by the Community Superstars official awarding board to mark Achiever of the Year, overall Community Superstar Award and the Bessie Braddock Award – presented by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool to the individual, group or organisation who have gone above and beyond in their effort to support and enhance the local community.

Awards organiser Debbie Boyd from Orb Events said:

“I have incredibly lucky throughout my career to have been involved with some amazing people and projects. You come to realise that there are so many who are carrying out work that is making a real and lasting difference to our communities. Community Superstars is about us giving back just once to those who give so much every day.”

“Whether it be through charitable work, innovation or accomplishment, Community Superstars is all about rewarding local heroes, and recognising the important people that are so often overlooked.”

The money raised from last year’s awards went towards supporting Merseyside Inclusion Network’s “Out of Liverpool” project, and provided young people who were not in employment, education or training from North Liverpool  with a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to the heart of rural Kenya.

Awards organisers are now seeking to appoint a worthy recipient for 2015 and are welcoming suggestions for the official nominated charity or beneficiary.

The Community Superstars Awards will take place on 1st February 2015 and the team organising the awards are now actively accepting nominations for the 2015 event. For more information or to nominate your personal superstar, visit
