Creative Kitchen offer more #CKSupport with June events programme
Creative, digital and tech events organisers Creative Kitchen have released details for their packed June events programme, with a focus on continuing their #CKsupport work for homeless charity The Whitechapel Centre.
This month will see the Creative Kitchen team rally the region’s creative and digital community to join them for their Big Boss Dev Brekkie at the Santander Breakthrough Box in Thomas Steers Way, on Tuesday 21st June, in support of the charity’s Big Boss Brekkie Week. The week, which is in partnership with Independent Liverpool, aims to encourage individuals, businesses and restaurants to hold a breakfast and raise money to allow them to continue with providing over 8,500 breakfasts for rough sleepers each year.
The Breakfast will see the Creative Kitchen team continue on from their #CKsupport campaign from November last year, which saw hundreds of the city’s digital, creative and business community donate clothing, towels and toiletries to be used in The Whitechapel Centre’s city centre shelter.
Breakfast will be served from 8.30 am, and people are encouraged to join the conversation on social media using #BigBossBrekkie.
This month will also see Creative Kitchen return to The Buyers Club for the next of their ever-popular Made Here events on Thursday 30th June. With previous Made Here events selling out, there is sure to be a high turnout, and attendees are encouraged to register early for tickets to avoid disappointment.
The event will include talks from dynamic Liverpool agencies Draw & Code, Sane Seven and Nova – and (weather permitting) will be held outside in The Buyers Club’s vibrant garden space.
The team will also be hosting a ‘Pop-up Made Here’ event at Santander’s Breakthrough Box on Tuesday 21st June, with speakers including crowdfunding experts Juxdit and video production agency Mocha.
Creative Kitchen’s curator Gavin Sherratt commented
“We’ve had a busy couple of months with events in Manchester and supporting the recent Binary Festival in Liverpool which shows the hunger and passion of the creative and digital sectors in the region.
“And it’s great to see Santander acknowledging this growth with their up and coming events in Liverpool championing the city’s business growth, and also supporting a great cause with the Whitechapel Big Boss Brekkie campaign.
“We have a community and sector that is passionate about what they do, but they also have a massive awareness of social impact issues.”
As well as a busy Liverpool events programme, this month will see Creative Kitchen continue with their Manchester programme of events with their next Dev Breakfast on Wednesday 15th June. The team will return to Foundation Coffee House on Lever Street and invite Manchester’s digital and creative community to join them.
In addition to their Dev Breakfast and Made Here events this month, Creative Kitchen are inviting the region’s business community to join them in wearing green and walking the Wirral Walk on Sunday 12th June to raise money for their friend Emma Dolan-Horlock. Emma was recently diagnosed with late-stage chronic Lyme Disease and is in the process of raising money to undergo treatment in America.
