Delifonseca Dockside is set to mark its fifth birthday with a competitive culinary celebration.

The award-winning eatery, located on Brunswick Way, is inviting foodies across the city to test their gastronomic knowledge with a quirky quiz on November 7.

During the Saturday night celebration, attendees will be treated to blind food and wine tastings to tantalise their taste buds with a selection of prizes to be won, intertwined with a three-course meal.

“As a business owner, it is really rewarding to celebrate Delifonseca’s fifth year in business and invite both new and familiar faces to join us to toast to its success. Our core ethos is that food is not simply fuel but so much more. Amongst many things, it’s part of our social glue, whether cooking at home for family and friends or eating out. For us, making our customers happy through food is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. We enjoy building lasting relationships with our regulars as well as meeting new folk every day. It therefore made perfect sense to host a birthday quiz for people who are as crazy about food, wine and having a good time as us.

“When we first opened Fonseca’s Stanley Street in 2006, I never imagined that just under ten years later, we’d be celebrating such a prominent birthday of our second site. It has certainly been an exciting five years for Delifonseca Dockside, during which we’ve won number of awards including Bronze at Visit England 2015, Observer Food Monthly Independent Food Retailer 2014 and The Good Food Guide Reader’s Restaurant of the Year 2014.”

The evening will be co-hosted by Delifonseca Dockside’s Restaurant Manager Tom Ford and Head Chef Martin Cooper, and will include blind food and wine tasting, foodie quiz questions and a main course of a delicious seasonal game stew.

The same applies to our Assistant Restaurant Managers Debbie Williams and Mike Booth, whose continued dedication to providing incredible customer service means that our diners and shoppers leave happy time and time again.

“Perhaps the biggest thank you of all goes to all of our customers who have supported us at both sites, in the deli and the restaurants, throughout the years. We look forward to the next half a decade and what it has in store.”

The quiz night is priced £45 per head and starts at 7pm on Saturday, November 7th. There is a minimum of four people per team and booking essential. A non-refundable deposit of £15 per head is required. Vegetarian and any dietary requirements must be notified on booking.
