Delifonseca offer duo of Christmas feasts

In a bid to create a Christmas Day to remember, Fonseca’s Stanley Street is set to host a duo of culinary celebrations this December 25th.

At 12pm, the restaurant will open its doors for an early Christmas Day celebration sitting featuring an extravagant four-course dinner followed by an indulgent seven-course Christmas Day Festive Feast at 3pm.

Proprietor of Delifonseca Candice Fonseca said:

“Year on year, our festive menus that run throughout December are increasingly popular, which is why this year we have decided to open our doors on Christmas Day itself. This is a first in Delifonseca’s history, and we are looking forward to celebrating the special day with both new and familiar faces.

“Our earlier sitting at midday is perfect for those who may want to spend their afternoon visiting friends and family after dinner, while our 3pm Festive Feast is ideal for those who are looking for a more decadent way to while away Christmas Day.”

Each of the foodie festivities will kick off with an amuse bouche of black truffle “cappuccino” followed by shared starters including baked Vacherin Mont D’or with dipping treats such as assorted artisan breads, pigs in blankets and devils on horseback. For mains, diners can choose from options such as roasted bronze turkey “wellington” with sage and onion stuffing and goose Fat chateau potatoes, baked fillet of John Dory with parmentier potatoes in lobster bisque or mushroom duxelle and chestnut “mille feuille” served with garlic roast potatoes.

Sweet toothed diners are set to enjoy dessert canapés including apple and calvados strudel bites, white chocolate and baileys truffles and pink champagne sorbet.

Candice added:

“Both of our sittings feature a selection of specially chosen culinary delights inspired by traditional British yuletide cuisine with a contemporary and choicest twist. We certainly hope that our offering will alleviate all the stresses of cooking and cleaning and allow our guests to enjoy the perfect Christmas day amongst family and friends.”

During the 3pm sitting, each guest will also be treated to a glass of Perrier Jouet Champagne on arrival and will enjoy an appetizing fish course of Coquille-Saint-Jacques ahead of their main course.

To complete the yuletide celebration, guests will then be treated to a Festive Cheese Plate with Port and tea, coffee and Petit Fours following dessert.

The 12pm sitting costs £55 per person while the 3pm sitting costs £95 per person. A £10 per person non-refundable deposit is required when booking and booking is essential. Children’s menus are also available.
