Delifonseca Stanley Street set to host a trio of fine wine evenings

Delifonseca Stanley Street is preparing to wine and dine its guests with a trio of quality wine evenings.

Situated in the award-winning venue’s ‘downstairs’ bar, the unmissable line up will celebrate some great wines from across the globe and most importantly host the wine-makers and suppliers who make them.

To accompany the wine talk a series of paired set menus have been created to compliment the various wines being quaffed and discussed.

Proprietor Candice Fonseca said:

“We have got a brilliant sequence of forthcoming wine events, which will certainly go down a treat with our guests. As well as featuring home-grown produce, great wines from Argentina and California will also be showcased.

“Having a wine expert host the event, with intimate knowledge of how that wine is produced is always fascinating. Guests not only get to taste good wine and food they get to discuss and learn more about both the wine but also their own tastes, often trying varietals that they wouldn’t usually choose. We create the ‘tapas’ style menu to deliberately compliment the wines but in the end taste is always personal so there are usually some lively debates!”

Kick-starting the events on Thursday, July 24, will be the Argentinean Wine Night, which will see the arrival of Jake Crimmin from Cordorniu Wines. To follow on Wednesday, August 13, John Budd from Hallgarten Druitt Wines will explore some of the increasingly prestigious  English still and sparkling wines.

Concluding the trio in great style on Monday, September 8, Delifonseca will welcome one of California’s most highly praised wineries, Bogle Winery, for a night filled with all things American.

Candice added:

“We look forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces for an evening packed with fine wine and culinary wonders. Our wine events have always received such a great response from the public – therefore we are certain that the forthcoming occasions will be highly enjoyable, sociable and educational.”

The Argentinean wine night will take place on Thursday, July 24 from 7:30pm and is priced at £29.95 per person. The English wine night will take place on Wednesday, August 13 from 7:30pm and is priced at £39.95 per person. The Californian wine night will take place on Monday, September 8 and is priced at £29.95 per person.

A non-refundable £10 deposit is required and a discretionary 10% service charge will be added to parties of 6 or more.
