A new route to Turkey takes off from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, operated by SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. Tony McDonough reports
SunExpress has started flights to Antalya in Turkey from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
First announced a year ago, the first passengers took off on a Boeing 737 on Sunday. This service will operate three times a week though the summer season. SunExpress is a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines.
Return fares start from £189.99. Tobias Bracht, head of sales at SunExpress, said: “We are delighted to expand our UK network with the launch of this new route from Liverpool to Antalya.
“As an airline committed to connecting our passengers and their loved ones to their dream destinations, we are confident that this service will offer those in the North West a convenient and high-quality travel experience to visit the incredible Turkish Riviera.

SunExpress has a strong presence on the Turkish Riviera and in Anatolia. It operates a total of 237 routes to 92 destinations across 35 countries.It is the leading carrier between Germany-Austria-Switzerland and the Turkish Riviera and Anatolia.
