Development on the horizon for digital infrastructure
Business support programme Connecting Cheshire is set to bring super-speedy broadband to almost all premises in Cheshire, Warrington and Halton.
A whopping 96% of premises in these areas, which amount to around 80,000, are set to benefit from the project.
This scheme will allow small and medium-sized businesses to understand the benefits of superfast broadband and IT in general.
The programme is expected to run until June 2015, and aims to provide direct and measurable support to 900 eligible SMEs.
David Marnell, programme & partnership manager at the Connecting Cheshire Superfast Business project explains:
“Cheshire is uniquely positioned, neighbouring two key economic cities yet there aren’t many commercial comparatives.
“A lack of internet connectivity in rural and semi-rural areas has been such a significant barrier. This roll-out evens the playing field.”
