Digital Works Entertainment Japan tour Liverpool creative hotspots

Liverpool Vision, in partnership with the City of Liverpool College, has hosted a visit to Liverpool’s creative hotspots with representatives from Japanese entertainment giant Digital Works Entertainment Japan.

Mr Higuchi, the chief executive of DWE Programming was invited to better understand the demand for skills and the opportunities for games development that make Liverpool an ideal location to do business.

UKTI helped Liverpool Vision organise the visit as a display of all the talent on offer in the Liverpool City Region. The representatives were especially interested in comparing Japan’s more traditional educational approach with Liverpool’s creative, innovative, and practical approach.

Taking a tour of the city’s creative hotspots, meeting with students from the City of Liverpool, and getting to hear about their ambitions and aims to program for the future, Mr Higuchi said that if he were to set up a location for DWE in Liverpool, he would be assured that this would be a place to attract the kind of local talent vital for business success.

Companies visited on the tour included Atomicom, Catalystonteca, Lucid, Milky Tea, Play rise.
