Diners set to go nuts this year with Almond West Derby festive menu
Almond Restaurant & Bar is proving that it’s not too late to book a festive feast with a difference following an impressive expansion.
The popular West Derby eatery is offering the perfect solution for less punctual planners thanks to the recent transformation of its Mill Lane venue, which has seen the restaurant double in size and expand across two levels, creating an increased capacity of 70 covers.
Managing director Kate Dunn said:
“Year on year, we’ve noticed that bookings for Christmas parties come in later and later, meaning that there’s usually last minute panic when it comes to arranging festive celebrations.
“As we’ve recently unveiled our new bigger space, we now have the additional capacity to cater for more Christmas bookings. Whether it be an intimate festive meal between family and friends, or a large group celebration amongst work colleagues, we have a range of dining options available including private function hire, which has become a popular choice for occasional such as weddings, birthdays and christenings.”
The restaurant and bar will be serving up a classic Christmas menu including nostalgic seasonal starters such as slow roast belly pork with Bury black pudding and apple puree; crispy tempura king prawns and home made saffron aioli dip and mushrooms in a garlic and parsley cream sauce on toast. Mains include roast turkey breast with apricot and chestnut stuffing, chipolata, rosemary and garlic potatoes and seasonal vegetables; herb crusted salmon with buttered baby potatoes, white wine & cream sauce, as well as vegetable chestnut loaf with apricot & chestnut stuffing, Rosemary and garlic potatoes, and seasonal Vegetables.
Those with a sweet tooth can then choose from an assortment of desserts including Chef’s vanilla and gingerbread cheesecake with toffee sauce; apple and cinnamon crumble with vanilla custard and fresh cream or ice cream and traditional Christmas pudding with fresh cream or brandy sauce.
Kate added:
“Since opening in 2009, we’ve seen the business go from strength to strength and continue to see the arrival of both familiar faces and new customers alike.
“We hope that our expansion will allow even more guests from across Liverpool and further afield to visit us and experience the great dishes that we have on offer – whether that be for a festive feast or simply a tasty treat during any time of year.”
For three years consecutively, Almond Restaurant & Bar has been crowned ‘Favourite Neighbourhood Restaurant’ in the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival Awards, as a result of championing Liverpool’s food and drink scene outside of the city centre.
