Dovedale Towers swaps out beermats for beermaps this Bank Holiday weekend

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Dovedale Towers will swap out its classic beermats for ‘beermaps’ – that when held up to the sun, reveal a series of routes to take punters on a journey of hidden destinations, from ancient burial sites to stone circles.

Research commissioned by its brewery, Beavertown, found that Scousers – 83% of them, in fact – enjoy a local ramble. 47% however, admit to being completely unaware of historical landmarks in and around the city.

The UV-activated ‘beermaps’ will also be launching in participating pubs in London, Manchester, Nottingham, Bath and Glasgow this weekend.

The Liverpool route takes in historical Beatle’s landmarks such as Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby’s grave, before a walk through popular Calderstones Park.

Tom Rainsford, marketing director of Beavertown Brewery said: “Working a ‘pint stop’ into a walk with a mate is something we all love, in fact, our research has shown that over half of Scousers (60%) like to treat themselves to a trip to the pub after a walk.

“This bank holiday we wanted to add a touch of mystery and lore to your pub walk, with our UV beer maps.
“So grab your walking boots, finish your pint of Neck Oil and discover that the secret maps hidden in your local pubs aren’t the only things to be uncovered in your hometown this weekend.”

One UV beer mat will be given out with every purchase of a pint of Beavertown’s Neck Oil IPA from Saturday 25th August – Monday 28th August until stocks last.
