A total of 15 awards were handed out at the MIB Awards ceremony at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool’s northern docklands with around 500 guests in attendance. Tony McDonough reports

 

Leading Liverpool accountancy firm BWM scooped two awards at the Merseyside Independent Business Awards (MIB).

Peter Taaffe, managing partner of the Castle Street practice, was named Business Person of the Year and BWM Business & Professional Services Company of the Year.

Wirral accountancy firm Woods Squared won the Employer of the Year Award.

A total of 15 awards were handed out at the MIB Awards ceremony at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool’s northern docklands with around 500 guests in attendance.

Specialist Southport-based manufacturer Inciner8 also scooped two awards – Merseyside Independent Business of the Year and the the Trades & Manufacturing Business accolade.

This year’s MIB Awards, now in their fifth year and headline sponsored by Liverpool BID Company, attracted the highest-ever number of nominations and the awards ceremony itself sold out in advance. 

Alison Lobb, managing partner of Morecrofts Solicitors which hosts and organises the event, said: “The calibre and volume of entries for this year’s MIB Awards surpassed all previous years, so every shortlisted nominee should feel very proud of what they’ve achieved. 

“The region is a hotbed for independent business talent and it’s important that we may continue to honour their successes through these awards.”
