A new route between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Derry in Northern Ireland will begin this autumn.

Budget airline easyJet is to offer return flights to the City of Derry Airport from LJLA twice a week starting on November 4. This is not just a new service for Liverpool but also a new destination on easyJet’s network.

This route to Northern Ireland’s second-largest city will operate all year round on Mondays and Fridays. It is the fifth new service easyJet has added to its Liverpool network in the last 12 months.

They include new flights being introduced to Malta, Enfida in Tunisia, Hurghada in Egypt and the Greek island of Corfu.

City of Derry airport, which lies on the west bank of the River Foyle is home of Ireland’s only completely intact historic Walled City with a vibrant food scene, museums and plenty to discover where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coastal Route.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be announcing a new route from Liverpool, to City of Derry airport, a brand new destination for easyJet , which will appeal to leisure and business customers alike.”
