The Live Local Work Local skills and employment fair returns to Ellesmere Port this week.

Taking place at the Civic Hall on September 22 between 10am and 2pm, it is an opportunity for anyone looking for work, training or advice from a range of locally-based employers.

It will be the third Live Local Work Local, hosted by Plus Dane Housing and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The event offers advice on jobs, apprenticeships, courses, and starting up in business, as well as wellbeing and money matters.

Cheshire West and Cheshire Council’s Cabinet member for Economic Development and Infrastructure, Councillor Brian Clarke, said:

“The Live Local Work Local Skills and Employment Fair is a fantastic event showcasing the ever-increasing opportunities for local people to access such as jobs and apprenticeships, matching local skills to local business employment needs. There will be the opportunity to apply for live job vacancies, apprenticeships, talk directly to employers and obtain information on business start-ups, training and volunteering. Please come along and take advantage of this terrific event.”

Chairman of the Ellesmere Port Development Board, Chris Farrow, said:

“One of the board’s key priorities is to help create local employment opportunities for local residents by supporting economic prosperity.

“Last year’s successful event had over 450 jobs, from major employers from the manufacturing, construction, care, retail and leisure sectors, helping local residents secure employment. The Board are extremely keen to encourage representation from key businesses and employers in Ellesmere Port and high levels of attendance from residents.”

Plus Dane’s Director for Ellesmere Port and Neston, Kate Jungnitz, said:

“Live Local Work Local has been a really positive employment event in Ellesmere Port since starting in 2014, and Plus Dane is delighted to be able to continue our involvement and support into its third year. As well as giving businesses the chance to talk to potential applicants about the skills and experience they need, it allows local residents the chance to find out more about different career paths.”
