Epstein Theatre to host weekend of live music
Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre is staging four nights of live music this coming weekned (17th-20th Novemeber). Andrew Wright reports.
The Hanover Street venue will first be hosting folk artists Show of Hands, who will be stopping off in Liverpool this coming Thursday (17th November) as part of their ‘Walk with Me’ tour. The group, comprised of singer/songwriter Steve Knightley, instrumentalist Phil Beer and long-time collaborator Miranda Sykes, will be performing hits from their latest album, ‘Long Way Home’, which was recently nominated in the ‘Best Album’ category at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
The following evening, on Friday 18th November, Eagles tribute band Talon will be revisiting the Eagles back catalogue of hits, from their early roots right through to their acclaimed tunes, including successes such as ‘Hotel California.’
Singer/songwriter Julia Fordham is next up, on Saturday 19th November with her ‘Live by Request’ show. In a display of audience interaction, all songs will be chosen in advance by Fordham’s fans.
Closing the weekend of live music will be Andrew Roachford, of Roachford fame. The singer, who scored success in the 80s with ‘Cuddly Toy’ will be performing songs from his latest album on Sunday 20th November.
