Euro Garages to open four mini services stations in Merseyside

Aherne Property Consultants has acquired four sites at Aintree, Maghull, Huyton and Knowsley on behalf of Euro Garages UK for petrol, retail and food and drink outlets. Tony McDonough reports

Euro Garages UK is to open four new mini services stations at locations across Merseyside.

Aherne Property Consultants has acquired four sites at Aintree, Maghull, Huyton and Knowsley on behalf of Euro Garages UK for undisclosed sums and each are at various stages of development and will provide petrol stations, retail and hot food and drinks.

The deal includes a two-acre site at at Mersey Reach in Dunningsbridge Road in Aintree, the main approach to Liverpool Docks. Construction is due to start on site later this year for a PFS convenience retail and drive through Starbucks.

A five-acre site was purchased at Maghull on junction one of M58 where new slip roads, providing east-west access to the motorway, are nearing completion. Euro Garages has secured planning permission for a petrol station and three drive-through restaurants.

The scheme will comprise a 5,100 sq ft petrol station, two drive-throughs of 2,500 sq ft each and a drive-through coffee shop at 2,204 sq ft.

At Beacon 62 in Huyton, close to junction seven of the M62, Euro Garages has been granted planning for a new mini service on a 2.5 acre site, adjacent to the proposed new Aldi store. The final site is at Titan fronting the A580 East Lancs Road at the entrance to in Knowsley Industrial Estate and totals 2.5 acres. Planning consent is secured.

David Myers, property director at Euro Garages, said: “These sites are situated on all the main arteries serving the Liverpool conurbation and complement our existing operations in Merseyside.

“We will push ahead with the delivery of these service stations as soon as possible as we see these offering an important amenity to the locations each serves whether for passing traffic, local businesses or residents.”
