Everton signs kit extension with hummel
Sportswear brand hummel will continue to supply Everton FC’s playing and training kits after signing an extension to the current deal. Tony McDonough reports
Everton FC has signed a new deal with sportswear brand hummel that will see the Danish company continue to supply playing and training kits until summer 2024.
It was in May 202 that hummel first replaced previous Everton kit supplier, Umbro, in a three-year deal. Everton’s deal with Umbro was believed to be worth between £4m and £5m and the hummel deal was reported to be worth £8m to £10m a year.
Just weeks after that agreement was signed the club reported the latest-sales ever forth home and away replica kits. Since then Everton and hummel have partnered on five record-breaking kit launches.
This new deal will see hummel continue to manufacture and supply Everton with bespoke playing, training and travel wear for the 2023/24 season. As technical partner, hummel kits out the men’s, women’s and academy squads, as well as the club’s coaching and Everton in the Community staff.
There has also been a range of limited-edition products, including the Alan Ball training shoe – marking 50 years since the Everton Giant wore his iconic white hummel boots. More recently hummel produced the ‘Stars and Stripes’ US warm-up shirt and the Copenhagen 21 LGBTQ+ warm-up jersey.
It will continue to work with the club’s official retail partner, Fanatics, helping to deliver a selection of official merchandise to Everton fans. Fanatics currently operates the club’s Everton One and Everton Two retail stores and evertondirect.com
