Fifty NHS workers could be treated to an incredible ‘New York New York’ themed Christmas party at Aintree Racecourse.

A Facebook competition is going viral after staff from hospitals in the Liverpool city region shared a post by JD Parties telling the company why they should win.

The post says: “Do you know a brilliant, hardworking team of NHS staff who deserve a FREE #JDParties Christmas party at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool this year?

“We know you work incredibly hard, especially at Christmas when many of you will be spending time on the hospital wards instead of with your families.

“So as a reward, we are giving away 50 FREE TICKETS to NHS staff, for our spectacular ‘New York New York’ Christmas parties, at Aintree Racecourse.”

Cancer patient Sarah Carlin-Edmonds wrote: “The chemotherapy team (the ones who also work at the Marina Dalglish centre, Aintree and Delamere Ward) at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre & Charity deserve this. They’ve looked after me brilliantly on and off since 2014.”

And Jeanette Sweeney nominated her colleagues at Aintree Hospital Breast Unit and in the outpatients department.

She posted: “Too many great names to mention they know who they are, day to day what an amazing job they do doing above & beyond in what they do and they truly deserve to win a fantastic prize.” 

The team behind the competition is JD Parties, who host a series of extravagant Christmas parties at Aintree Racecourse each year.

Managing director Andrew Gentles said have said the Facebook competition is open to “any and every” member of staff working at the NHS in the North West.

He explained: “Christmas is always a busy time for the NHS and we know how hard and often how under rewarded doctors, nurses and specialists are at this time of year.

“We are able to give away five tables that seat 10 people away which means we will see 50 NHS staff members have a night to remember this Christmas.

“We have a selection of dates to choose from because there may be shift commitments and the prize includes a three course meal, glass of bubbly and superb entertainment with all the glamour of New York.”
