Spanish fashion giant Inditex, owner of Zara, is bringing another one of its popular fashion brands to Liverpool for the first time in a 35,000 sq ft unit. Tony McDonough reports
Fashion brand Lefties will open its first store in Liverpool later this summer.
Lefties – whose parent company Inditex also owns Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear – will open on South John Street across two floors at Liverpool ONE on Thursday, August 27.
This 35,000 sq ft outlet will stock women’s, men’s, teen, kids, baby, newborn, home, accessories and footwear collections.
Founded in 1999, Lefties has been developing ever since, with the launch of its own collections more than a decade ago. Lefties can be found in 20 countries spanning across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Brendan Hattam, centre director at Liverpool ONE, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be home to the very first Lefties store in the UK. This exciting new arrival will further strengthen our unique, top-tier line-up of fashion and lifestyle brands, offering guests something they can’t find anywhere else in the country.
“It speaks volumes that Lefties, part of the Inditex group, has chosen Liverpool ONE as its first site in the UK – our stand-out retail, leisure and hospitality offering located in the heart of the city is a major pull for leading international brands.”

Lefties will offer some of the latest retail technology already seen at the brand’s more recent European openings.
For example, the store will feature smart fitting rooms leading to an automated clothes sorter, robotic hanger sorters and radio-frequency identification assisted-checkouts, avoiding the need to scan each item separately.
