Flooding temporarily closes Liverpool restaurant
A restaurant in Liverpool city centre is being formed to close temporarily due to flooding in its basement
Liverpool city centre restaurant Six By Nico is is being forced to close temporarily due to flooding problems in its basement.
Six By Nico, which which opened in North John Street in November 2019, called in experts after repeated water ingress in its basement area. This has been traced back to problems with the roof of the seven-storey building, which also houses apartments.
Discussions with the building’s landlords are ongoing, but the restaurant has been forced to close its doors while further investigations and remedial work are carried out.
In a statement the restaurant said: “It’s extremely disappointing that we’ve had to take this decision, but the problems caused by water leaking into the basement mean we had no option.

“We are in the process of contacting our customers to let them know about the closure and will inform them as soon as we know when we can reopen. We have been in discussions with the landlord and have asked them to address the problem urgently so that we can reopen as soon as possible.
“There is not yet have a definitive timetable. We appreciate it’s hugely frustrating for everyone, including our staff and we are very keen to get the issue resolved so that we can get back to serving the people of Liverpool.”
