Forresters, the intellectual property specialists, have helped inventor Bradley Burkert’s company secure a patent for his pipe repair product, soon to be launched on the UK market.

The pipe repair product in question is the “Click-Fix”, so called because it is a clip that removes the need to cut pipes and makes it simpler to fix plumbing housed in hard-to-reach or confined spaces.

Burkert developed the idea after accidentally drilling through a copper water pipe while joining for a client only to be told by the plumber that there was no way to access the pipe without causing damage.

Bradley Burkert approached Forresters in order to help him secure a patent and since Click-Fix went on sale in December 2014, it has already shifted 3,000 units.

Bradley Burkert said:

“I knew my product had worldwide potential and would need protection to go along with that. It is a very exciting time for my business.”

David Murphy, an associate at Forresters, worked closely with Burkert Innovative Solutions to make the Click-Fix a reality, adding:

“As with many of the best inventions, Click-Fix is simple but hugely effective.

“From the outset our aim was to help Bradley obtain the best protection for his invention in order to help him secure his position in a market that is very competitive when it comes to launching new products.”
