Free business advice at Liverpool Loves

Mind Your Own Business (MYOB), the events programme that aims to disseminate pragmatic advice and useful information to small and micro business owners, have teamed up with organisers of the Liverpool Loves Business festival for our latest offering.

Tomorow, Thursday August 6th, MYOB in association with Growth Accelerator and The North West Fund will host a Business Clinic, which will form part of the make-up of the Liverpool Loves Business programme.

Experts from the professional services, financial and digital marketing sectors will be available to offer delegates up to 15 minutes of free, unbiased advice on things that could affect their business and its development. The aim is to help aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners to address the practical and financial implications of starting or growing a business and arm them with applied ideas, that are easy to implement and could make a real and lasting difference.

Representatives from a range of professional organisations will be on hand to offer guidance on things like accessing funding, managing risk and acquiring property; to planning for growth, recruiting and managing staff, brand awareness and marketing.

Businesses on board with the Business Clinic include:

• Benchmark Business Solutions, business development coaching and advice across a broad range of sectors
• Click Consult, award-winning SEO and PPC agency
• CrowdBoarders, social network dedicated to crowdfunding projects, ideas and initiatives
• FW Capital, fund management company providing tailored commercial investments to businesses across the North East and North West

Those businesses will be in a reserved area of the Business Big Top throughout the allocated 2 hour spot, with many on hand throughout the day with a view to engaging and helping as many businesses as they can. Jennie Lewis, organiser of the MYOB events programme and facilitator of the Liverpool Loves Business Clinic, will be on hand to steer people in the right direction on the day. She said:

“The Liverpool Loves Business programme has really taken shape over recent months. Josh and the team behind Liverpool Loves are similarly committed to aiding small and growing businesses, and it seemed like a great fit for us to be involved.

“The Business Clinic is directly in line with our MYOB events, with the shared goal of equipping businesses with the right information and advice to help them grow. I hope to see many of the businesses we have worked with coming along and taking advantage of this fantastic opportunity to obtain free, professional advice.”

Paul Bibby - MSB

Paul Bibby from MSB Solicitors said:

“The burgeoning small and start-up business sector in the Liverpool City Region is incredibly important to the continued growth of our economy. It is those businesses who are creating jobs and wealth, and shaping the future for the city and indeed the region as a whole. If our involvement with Liverpool Loves Business can go some way towards helping those businesses and pointing them in the right direction as they’re starting out, then we’ll certainly be very pleased.”

Paul Durrance, partner at Mitchell Charlesworth Accountants and Business Advisors added:

‘We have been established in Liverpool for over 125 years supporting small and medium sized businesses in the city with their financial affairs and also assisting in their short and longer term objectives. We are therefore delighted to be supporting this business focused festival and providing advice to new and established business owners’.

The North West Fund are headline sponsors of Liverpool Loves Business, and were particularly keen to be involved in the Business Clinic. Chief executive, Cliff Maylor said:

“The North West Fund are really pleased to be supporting the inaugural Liverpool Loves festival. The whole concept perfectly encapsulates the bold, enterprising spirit of the city and demonstrates how proud the people are of its deep and varied routes.

“Liverpool is the lifeblood of the North West, with heart and guts in equal measure. If being part of this festival means that we too can celebrate all that is great and good in the city, whilst bringing us closer to the businesses who operate there, why wouldn’t we be part of it?

“It’s been hugely rewarding to have helped so many businesses in Liverpool already, and we’d like to continue in the same vein. Our involvement with festivals and events like Liverpool Loves is an important part of that strategy. We look forward to meeting many of the hundreds expected on launch day, and can’t thank the team at Orb Events enough for letting us be part of what looks set to be an incredible weekend.”

The Business Clinic will run from 12-2pm, and pre-registration is available here – http://www.eventbrite.com/e/liverpool-loves-business-clinic-in-association-with-myob-and-growth-accelerator-tickets-17980083915
