Architecture practice Studio RBA has secured planning consent for the scheme in North Liverpool that will offer 26 apartments. Tony McDonough reports
A proposed £5m residential development in north Liverpool has secured planning consent in the latest win for Liverpool architecture practice Studio RBA.
The 26-unit scheme in Marlborough Street in Vauxhall, being brought forward by developer/contractor SEP Construction Services, will start on site later this summer, with completion in winter 2022. It will provide 23 one-bed and three two-bed apartments.
“This is our second project for SEP and one we’re particularly pleased to secure consent. It’s a sensitive in-fill and will re-instate lost massing and activity to the street, bringing valuable footfall and animation to the area,” said Studio RBA director Adam Morgan.
The development rises to six storeys at the front, dropping to three storeys at the rear elevation facing Pickop Street. There is no parking provision as the developer’s aim is to encourage maximum use of sustainable forms of transport in what is a well-connected neighbourhood.
Other consultants on the project include The Planning Studio, Shape Engineering (civils and structure) and Davies Partnership (building services).
