Health professionals needed down under
The Emigration Group, together with the Western Australian State Government is hosting a seminar in Chester for health professionals looking to relocate Down Under.
Both Australia and New Zealand have major skills shortages in the health sector and are looking to the UK to recruit the thousands of workers they need. Nationally Australia is facing a shortfall of 109,000 medical professionals by 2025 based on current trends.
Jarrod Ferguson from the WA State Government said:
“Over the past decade Australia and in particular Western Australia, have undergone rapid transformation. Strong economic growth has led to a big increase in population and as a result there has been a massive investment in new health services and infrastructure, we are now in serious need of a range of health professionals from GPs to nurses, midwives, surgeons, dentists, psychiatrists and cardiologists to name a few.”
During the seminar on the 22nd November, Jarrod Ferguson will be discussing the state nomination program which allows eligible skilled people to migrate to Australia as permanent residents and will also give an overview of the opportunities currently on offer.
The seminar is being held at The Steam Mill, Chester and The Emigration Group will also be providing advice on visas and the relocation process.
Paul Arthur, director of The Emigration Group said:
“If you are a qualified nurse, midwife or health care professional you have a good chance of being eligible to apply for a permanent residence visa, to live and work down under where not only are there more job and career opportunities, but the salaries are also often higher than in the UK. In addition, Australia offers better weather and a much more relaxed lifestyle than the UK.”
Australia has recently been voted as the best country in the world to live, and several cities consistently rank as some of the best in the world to live, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Global Livability Survey.
Paul added:
“Perth, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney are all in the top 10, with Melbourne being number one. It’s this combination of a fantastic lifestyle and great work and career opportunities which is proving an irresistible lure for many health sector professionals.”
