Hoax & Hopskotch welcome new general manager
Starboard Hotels’ flagship boutique hostel, HOAX, has welcomed its new general manager.
Emma Wright, 33, who has more than eight years’ experience in managerial roles within the hospitality industry, has been appointed to lead a team of 50 at the Stanley Street hostel and its in-house restaurant and bar Hopskotch.
After acquiring a wealth of knowledge in the sector, working for brands such as IHG, 62 Castle Street & Macdonald Hotels, Emma is set to aid future business progression at the Liverpool based site by implementing a range of new strategies.
She said:
“I am delighted to be working with such a great team in two truly original venues. Alongside the hostel, I love how Hopskotch is an eatery, bar and social hub all rolled into one – which is often rare to find.
“As a result of my past experience, I believe that my position is well suited and I am excited to be a part of creating new business models, whilst carrying out the day to day running of the varied venues.”
HOAX was established in 2013 to offer a hostel with a boutique twist. Its objective is to combine style and quality at an affordable price. Following its success, Hopskotch was launched to match the hostel’s unusual and modernistic attributes. It has become renowned for its international street cuisine, quirky beverages and varied events programme.
Emma added:
“We certainly stand out from the crowd as a result of our uniqueness and warm and welcoming ethos.
“In terms of the future, our aim is to develop a prominent stance within Liverpool’s fast-paced hospitality sector, and continue to appeal to a wide global demographic. Also, we hope to maintain HOAX’s individuality and notion of luxury hostelling.”
