Homecoming for Berry & Cooper with a Liverpool office launch
Corporate recovery and insolvency practice Berry & Cooper has opened a new office at The Plaza in Liverpool.
The move also signifies a return home for the company’s founder and managing partner Stephen Berry who pursued a successful legal career in Leeds and ultimately qualified as an insolvency practitioner, following his Merseyside upbringing.
Berry, born and raised in Liverpool, launched his own successful practice, Berry & Co, in 2007 and later merged with Jonathan Cooper’s corporate recovery team to form Berry & Cooper in the summer of 2014.
Stephen Berry said:
“When we launched Berry & Cooper, it was with the express aim of growing the business and being bold about our offer, rather than standing still and preserving the status quo like so many of our peers in the corporate recovery sector.
“It’s especially exciting for me that we are expanding the footprint of the business into my home town and the whole team is looking forward to strengthening our links with the city’s professional community and building a strong, lasting base here.”
Jonathan Cooper said:
“Liverpool was always high on our list of priorities and everything is now in place for us to enter the market with real confidence in our track record of collaboration with fellow professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for business owners.”
Berry & Cooper joins a host of fellow professional services businesses at the Bruntwood-owned building, including Investec, Weightmans, O’Connors, DTM Law, Wilcocks & Associates and Langtons.
Matt Lee, head of sales at Bruntwood, said:
“The Plaza has long been established as the premier destination for professional services businesses in Liverpool and our recent investment in a new business lounge for our customers demonstrates our commitment to maintaining that enviable position.
“Stephen and the team at Berry & Cooper have been established on the Manchester professional scene for many years now and their arrival will make a great addition to our existing portfolio.”
