North West HR consultancy Altum HR is offering a free helpline for care and residential homes struggling under the pressure of the coronavirus outbreak.

The firm, which operates in Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester, says homes across the region are under immense pressure, and with recent Government guidelines stating they have to accept residents with coronavirus, are being put in a challenging position.

What does this mean for their staff? Are staff obligated to carry out their duties as usual? What if they refuse? Altum has set up the free helpline to answer questions from the sector on these issues.

“We know that care homes and residential homes are on the front line and under immense pressure at the moment,” says Altum founder and HR consultant Josie Broadstock.

“Many facilities will not have access to professional HR support and will be feeling overwhelmed and unsure about what to do, where they stand, and how best to support their employees. These are unprecedented times and so they won’t know how to deal with the situations they are finding themselves faced with. We want to help support them.”

Effective immediately, Altum has put in place the Altum HR Care and Nursing Home Helpline. Employers and managers can call the number and log a request for support. They will then receive a call back from a qualified HR advisor from the team to answer any questions and provide guidance. The number is 08081 961758.
