Low Carbon and Renewables Week takes place against a backdrop of sustainability both becoming an operational norm for many organisations while the need for affordable low-carbon energy generation remains an important goal globally.

Mark Knowles, Head of Low Carbon at Liverpool City Region LEP, said:

“The latest round of developments in renewable generation emphasises the need and feasibility of bringing costs down as critical mass scale is achieved, and represents an exciting opportunity to transform energy supply to low carbon.

“The transition to a global low carbon economy will bring with it a huge number of commercial opportunities for those organisations with the insight, adaptability and flexibility to take advantage.

“The UK and the North West are particularly well placed to maximise the opportunities of renewable energy and could become the European capital of renewable generation.”
