More industry leaders join list of speakers at Maritime Exchange in Liverpool
Former managing director of Liverpool maritime giant Bibby Group and the current president of UK Chamber of Shipping, Sir Michael Bibby, will top the bill at the event in June
A national maritime conference being held in Liverpool in June has added more speakers to its line-up.
Former managing director of Liverpool maritime giant Bibby Group and the current president of UK Chamber of Shipping, Sir Michael Bibby, will top the bill at the The Maritime Exchange taking place at Liverpool Town Hall on Thursday, June 13.
Already joining Sir Michael to address the delegates is Sarah Kenny, chief executive of BMT and vice-chair of Maritime UK, and Lesley Batchelor, director general of the Institute of Export. Helen Kelly, head of communications at Nautilus and the former editor-in-chief at Lloyds List.
They will now be joined by, Tim Morris, chief executive o UK Major Ports Group, Asbjorn Kops, head of products (UK and Ireland) at Maersk, Sarah Thompson, regional security advisor, Chevron Global Security, Nawaz Ali, senior currency strategist UK/EMEA, Western Union Business Solutions, and Cdre Rich Harris, commanding officer of HMS Raleigh.
Organised by and in association with industry body Mersey Maritime, the event as been developed in response to the Government’s Maritime 2050 report that sets out the long-term strategy for the £37bn UK maritime sector.
It will address some of the key themes raised in the Government’s Maritime 2050 report including trade, technology and innovation and people and skills. Each theme will be examined by an industry-leading speaker and panel and the aim is to provide insight and practical applications to businesses throughout the conference.
