Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo car dealership chain Hatfields Motor Group taken the final plot at a Merseyside property development.

Hatfields, which already has a dealerships in Liverpool, will build a new outlet at the Beacon 62 site in Huyton. Beacon 62 is being delivered by HBD Barnfield; a joint venture partnership between property developers HBD and Barnfield Group.

The 11.5-acre scheme is now home to an 18,000 sq ft. Aldi supermarket and work is underway on Euro Garages’ latest service station. The sale of the final plot to Hatfields completes HBD Barnfield’s involvement in Beacon 62.

Dan Lawrenson, development surveyor at HBD, said: “It’s great to see Beacon 62 completed with the sale of the final phase to Hatfields. This site originally had planning permission back in 2011 but progress had stalled until HBD and Barnfield acquired it several years ago.

“It’s an important gateway site to Huyton so it’s positive to see it redeveloped, particularly since it will create hundreds of new jobs.”

HBD is one of the UK’s leading property developers. Part of Henry Boot PLC, it is headquartered in Sheffield with offices in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow.

The developer is currently working with a £1.4bn development pipeline focusing on industrial and logistics and large-scale urban development schemes across both commercial and residential. Savills and Mason Owen are joint agents for Beacon 62.

Tracy Clavell-Bate, head of development for Barnfield Developments commented: “Beacon 62 is a thriving new business and retail destination in Huyton – we’re very pleased to be able to welcome Hatfields. We’ve no doubt its newest location will prove very successful.”

Barnfield Group are contractors, developers and investors established in 1976. It is currently on site delivering a range of mixed-use schemes nationwide across retail, commercial, industrial, residential and healthcare sectors.
