Law firm Goldsmith Williams takes 13,000 sq ft at Liverpool’s 20 Chapel Street
Practice will relocate its 165 staff to the fourth floor of the building from its current base at Mersey Chambers later this year after agreeing a 10-year lease. Tony McDonough reports.
Law firm Goldsmith Williams has agreed to take 13,000 sq ft of office space at 20 Chapel Street in Liverpool’s commercial district on a 10-year lease.
The firm will relocate its 165 staff to the fourth floor of the building from its current base at Mersey Chambers later this year.
The deal at 20 Chapel Street follows an 18,000 sq ft letting to serviced office provider Orega at the end of February.
Adele Whittle, director of operations at Goldsmith Williams, said: “The move is very much a natural progression for us as a growing, modern practice.
“We have adopted some of the most contemporary ways of working out of any law firm in the country – so of course it was only logical to find a 21st century space to reflect that.
“20 Chapel Street provides just that. It is a delight to announce this exciting news and we look forward to welcoming our loyal clients to our new, custom-built office soon.”
The freehold of 20 Chapel Street was acquired by Canmoor on behalf of British Airways Pension Trustees for just under £20m in June last year, and is undergoing a £3m refurbishment.
Canmoor director Sam Walker added: “This letting to Goldsmith Williams is further testament to the quality of the scheme, its facilities and the building’s ability to attract major occupiers within Liverpool.
“We have signed up a number of new occupiers in recent weeks, as well as re-gearing leases with existing occupiers who are keen to stay.
“Progress is also being made on the new enhanced reception area, which has recently commenced works on-site with completion due in late June and we also look forward to announcing the operator for the new café in the coming weeks.”
Completed in 2008, 20 Chapel Street comprises 155,000 sq ft of office space across 15 floors.
