A subscription-based community support and sign-posting service for the LGBTQ+ community in Liverpool city region and the North West has secured Lottery funding. Tony McDonough reports

A support network for the LGBTQ+ community has secured cash from the National Lottery Community Fund to roll out its mental health training programme.

The Collaborative Network is a subscription-based community support and sign-posting service tailored for the LGBTQ+ community in Liverpool city region and across the North West.

Its new funding will allow it to roll out its LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention in the City Initiative. This is an holistic approach to wellbeing focusing on mental health training, community groups and support services.

Founded by Josef Hollywood, a radio presenter at Capital FM and the founder of Ocular Media, and Mike Skeggs, co-founder of Owen Drew, The Collaborative Network is designed to enhance connections within the business community.

It brings together businesses, leaders, employees, and professional services in a concerted effort to support LGBTQ+ matters in the workplace.

“We are beyond excited to partner with The National Lottery to extend our much-needed services across the region,” said Josef.

“This funding validates the importance of our mission and empowers us to make a tangible difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals in our community.”

The Collaborative Network is set to roll out various services designed to promote mental health awareness, provide educational resources, and offer direct support to companies and individuals seeking to enhance their inclusivity practices.
