Liverpool BID Company has entered into two new partnerships that will provide a national and international platform to its BID levy payers to have a voice on policy and regeneration issues.

The organisation is teaming up with Bilbao Dendak, a public-private partnership representing 2,000 businesses in the Spanish city of Bilbao, which is set to mutually benefit their members and the 1,500 BID levy payers in Liverpool.

Primary aim of the partnership is to form a strong working relationship between Liverpool and Bilbao, which in time, can generate a common space of collaboration to share good practices in terms of urban sustainability, regeneration, retail, tourism and town centre management.

Liverpool BID has previously welcomed delegates from Bilbao to the city and with the Bilbao Dendak agreement now in place, it will host and take part in a number of forums, conferences and seminars over the next 12 months to help the growth of both city centres.

At a national level, Liverpool BID Company has been part of a leading group of 27 BIDs across the UK that developed the recently launched, BID Foundation.

This is an alliance of BIDs and the Institute of Place Management at Manchester Metropolitan University which has been created to elevate standards, create a powerful voice for the industry and provide practical support to those that work in Business Improvement Districts.

Bill Addy, chief executive of Liverpool BID Company, council member of The BID Foundation and co-chair of the Northern BID Group, said:Liverpool BID Company is pleased to strengthen our relationships with The BID Foundation and Bilbao Dendak.

“These partnerships are confirmation of the fantastic work that Liverpool BID Company has done in the city and how much we can improve it by sharing experiences with other forward-thinking organisations.”
